Alder Art Supply is an online frame shop and art supply retailer based just outside Charleston, South Carolina.

We specialize in custom framing and curated frame options for artists, designers, and art collectors who care about how artwork is finished, protected, and presented. Whether you need a custom frame for an original painting, a clean ready-made frame for a print, or guidance choosing the right materials, our goal is to make framing feel thoughtful, approachable, and well made.

The name Alder is inspired by the alder tree, a hardwood used in woodworking and picture-frame moulding. Alder wood is known for its smooth grain, warm character, and ability to take a beautiful finish — qualities that reflect what we value in framing: simplicity, craftsmanship, and materials that support the artwork without overpowering it.

Alder is currently online and available by appointment only.
